I'm a little stressed...
That's what I get for taking photos on my phone. They're actually really good quality for a phone (I have G1) but they're too big for Blogspot I guess. I'll just have to tote my really camera around everywhere.
No running last night. Too tired. And not today either. well, maybe a night run. Who knows! I may need it. I'm off to study at the library for midterms and I'm so stressed! A run may do me good. I'm kind of freaking out right now about my essays I need to get started on, so, I'm going to log off of Blogspot and tell myself No More Posting Today!

Yee-Haw!
I wanted to show off my rodeo garb. I'm working at the Children's Museum today and everyone dressed up! Well, a few of us. Everyone else does not understand the idea of dressing up...or they're lame.
This is me, Adam and Eliza! We look like were about to wrangle something! Notice my Sheriff badge.
I'm taking this from behind the computer monitor so no one can make fun of me at the front desk! :)
I can't show you my cowboy boots because I don't have any. Tragedy, yes, I know. I'm in the market to buy some, but they're either super expensive or really small. everyone in Tucson should own a pair.
I'm planning on a run tonight. Maybe Chance and I will end up doing the same loop we did last time. We ran from our apartment to U of A and back. Not too bad, I did a lot of complaining, but only because my Nike+ was NOT working, and that made me feel as if my run wasn't worth anything. Silly, right? I am training, but when I don't know how far or how fast I'm running, it feels useless.
Until Later!

Tucson is Beautiful!
This is a photo of University avenue today. I was walking around snapping photos for your enjoyment! :)
I'm at school again, obviously. I never seem to post at home. It's very convenient to post here, especially during boring classes. ;)
I have Spring Break coming up soon! I'm really excited! I'm probably going to run a lot, to make up for lost time, of course. Also, I want to go kayaking with Chance at Parker Canyon Lake, which is pretty close to the Mexican border. I really want to go into Mexico, not to party like a lot of college kids will be doing, but to walk around and explore. I'm so happy I live an hour and a half away from another country, one that is so very different from ours. It's great! I wish I could go over there more often, but my parents/some friends think it's unsafe right now. It's only unsafe if you get involved. Really.
Some more photos! This is the Arizona State Musuem where I intern.
Looing down university ave toward Old main, the 1st building on campus.
I love Tucson.
Oh! Sorta random topic...I've been trying to eat a little more like a "runner". I've researched what kind of foods are good for runners, like almonds and salmon. And boy, I've been eating a ton of it. I actually don't even like nuts and eating more salmon means an excuse for more sushi! Whatever helps, right? ;)

Waiting...
I would like a break during the week. But, it's either money or doing something I love to do. You would think it'd be a simple answer (psst! it should be running!) but, being the poor college kid that I am, money is at the top of my list for right now.
I don't even have time for the gym....
Oh! I'm whining again! Sorry...

Brrrr!
Good thing I went running yesterday. It was a good run, i think. I would definitely say that yesterday was my first day of training, so i better mark it on my calendar! :)
I need some leg muscle. They were hurting so badly! I did some stretches along the way, and that seemed to help. I also was tiring out too quickly. These things I really need to improve.
My sister had bought me a Nike+ thingy for my birthday, and I couldn't figure out how to get it working! It frustrated me and that delayed my run a bit. Chance and I ran up to U of A and back to our apartment. The Nike+ website told me it was a total of 5.5 miles when I mapped it out, but I don't believe them.
Also! Shoes. Holy cow. I have a huge blister (not trying to be gross or anything...sorry...) on the bottom of my foot. It hurts like crazy! I thought my running shoes were good enough, but I guess not! Is there a special type of shoe that I should know about? And I thought I heard something about your shoes being a whole size bigger because your feet swell? I'm not sure if I should throw out these current shoes or just get thicker socks?
I wish I had some photos of me running or something so I can post them...I'll get on that!
I hope it's sunny where ever you are!

Finally, some time to run!
I've been so busy lately. School, and then work, sometimes more school. During the week, I usually don't get home until 9pm. :c And there is no way I'm going running at night...alone. Not in my neighborhood.
Anyways, I definitely have time tonight for a run.
I was actually considering joining the U of A Running Club. I really wanted to get involved in a running group, so I would have others to help motivate me. Although, I do have my boyfriend, who will gladly run with me anytime. I just want to learn from other people as well. and the running club is cheap. 10 bucks a semester! So very cheap compared to most running groups around town.
A smart idea would be to run with friends and make it free. But, that's my problem. I don't have any running friends...yet. All my current friends hate to run. They won't even consider it. :c
So, if there's anyone in Tucson looking at this blog, AND loves to run...let me know! That's another reason I want to join the club. I want to find some running friends. I want to talk about running with people, without sounding crazy. Is that so much to ask??
The club meets at 5:30 tonight and I have to bring my money and some paperwork. But I'm nervous. I haven't really had a chance to run on my ankle yet since it has healed. Oh, yeah, it's healed, I'm just a big scaredy cat. Silly, right? I don't want to be the weak runner. I want to be strong and fast and so on. Soooo, I may not go....now that I think about it.
I'll just run with Chance and maybe try the club next week.

Heat! Finally! And the Hoff. And Fuel Belts.
When I get my paycheck this week I plan on buying a few things:
1. Food. Very important.
2. Registration for Race for the Cure
3. A fuel belt!
4. Some decent running clothes
5. And...probably another round of Harry Potter shots at the Auld Dubliner. Those things are goooood.
I've decided I can run this race. Last night, when Chance took me to my favorite Japanese restaurant, I jogged down the sidewalk (in my boots, mind you)! I could feel where it was hurting. My knees are especially weak from not running. But I think I just need some stretching and a light jog to start me out again. I need to work out!
I'm at school right now. And I was considering biking home...to run. And then bike back at 2pm for another class. Am I crazy? I'm not sure. I prolly won't do it just because I need to get my homework done. But it's all I can think about right now!
Oh. That, and the Hoff. Yes, the Hoff. As in David Hasselhoff. I met him today! I go to the University of Arizona and his daughter goes here as well. So, he's sometimes on campus. Like today! Sweeeet, I know.
I got as close as I could.
...
Okay. On to Fuel Belts.
I've been reading about them after my sister gave them two thumbs up. Also, I saw her using it at the Phoenix Rock and Roll Marathon and she looked hydrated and comfortable wearing it.
So, that's why its on my list of what to buy. There are some pros and cons though, from what I heard, just to throw these out there.
Pros:
1. They look awesome. You look like a smart, professional (maybe experienced is a better word) runner when you're wearing one of these.
2. You will stay hydrated. There are different styles which have 2-6 bottles on them.
3. You can carry keys and gels in the pockets! You don't want too much weight, but you need the important things. Also, I don't know what gels are (yet) but my sister highly recommends them.
So, go get some. That should be on my list too!
4. You won't waste time at a water station. I hear those get crowded.
5. I don't really have anything else except that they look cool, this is why I'm getting one. I felt that it needed to be on the list twice.
Cons: These aren't for me, they are for you. I know I want one, but one should always consider the negitive side.
1. Weight. They're aren't that heavy I hear, but if you've been training without that weight, it could make it difficult.
2. Of course you're going to run out of water. You'll probably have to stop sooner or later for some water elsewhere.
3. I don't have any more cons because they're are too cool. Go get one you marathon runners, you.
Also, I think that people running without one don't look like experienced runners. This was from a non-runners point of view. I'm not trying to be mean, and I'm not trying to sell a product. I just think it is a really, really good idea. Please tell me what you think. I'd love to know how others feel about this.
I want one of these fuel belts. They look pretty sweet. The navy one is really nice.
Okay, I should get back to my homework. Although, all I want to do is run.

Race for the Cure
http://www.komensaz.org/race.html April 11th 2010!
It's the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. And it's for a very good cause. So, if you have a chance to do it, you should! It's a 5K at the most (3.1 miles). I plan on running the competitive race (vs. the run/walk uncompetitive). This way, I'll get a time. Very important in running I've come to notice. Beating your time is one way to get better! I'm very new to all of this, so bear with me.
I said I'd like to be training for the race because I currently cannot run. I hurt my ankle longboarding at school a week or so ago. And it hasn't got any better! I'm a little worried. My sister has already signed up to run the race with me and she lives in Chandler, Arizona. I don't want to be a let down and tell her I can't do it with her and make her come all the way down here.
I'll continue to ice it and rest. I really need to start running again! I feel so deprived! I guess we'll see what happens.
I'll keep you updated.

This is my first post on Heat Runner! I'm very excited! I'll be blogging about my new found love of running.
I just wanted to post some photos to give you an idea of where I usually run in my neighborhood. It isn't very exciting, but it's what I have for right now. Hopefully, in the next few months, I'll be moving a little up north and my running scenery will change dramatically. I'm excited about that!
